Cranswick x BlakBear Partnership
Digital shelf-life program will improve quality testing across 17 Cranswick sites through the use of BlakBear's freshness sensor technology and AI software.
Cranswick plc, one of the largest British food manufacturers, has partnered with BlakBear to implement a digital quality program. By shifting to smart sensors, Cranswick gathers 1000x more data points on product freshness compared to traditional testing.
This technology allows the company to minimize destructive testing waste. Instead of opening packs and throwing away perfectly good food just to run a test, the sensors remain in the sealed packs, feeding continuous data to the cloud. This collaboration, originally funded by InnovateUK, is now scaling across the business, working closely with major retailers to ensure consistent quality.
